2016 New Player DDO advice!

You consider yourself a new player right? So you don’t know the quests very well, or the game mechanics, no gear, no knowledge of how to get the gear you need, nothing…

Don’t go and build something new, something complicated, don’t try things that no one else tried ๐Ÿ˜›

The game’s mechanics, the quests are complicated enough to keep you interested. As a first life toon, the quests are hard and can be frushtrating rather than entertaining.

This game has traps that can kill you if you are not prepaired ๐Ÿ™‚ It has lots of self healing options that made clerics less needed and some groups don’t accept it to have hirelings to help you.

So you have to thing about self healing before you make a new character.

And just keep it simple! ๐Ÿ™‚

My first simple overpowered 2016 DDO build will be calledย 2 handed fighting Human Paladin! What a name eh? ๐Ÿ˜›

How to get it?

Simple! 16 STR, 16 CHA, 14 CON, 10 INT!

All level up points on STR!

All level up skill points on: HEAL for better healing! UMD for raise scrolls and Heal Scrolls when out of sp! JUMP for the few quets that some developer thought it would beย  it would be fun if people weren’t able to complete without investing in this skill ๐Ÿ˜€

Why no Consentration that some builds suggest? Because we are 2HF! More Feats! Yay quicken! (we would fail on consentration checks anw on Epic levels)

Why no Intimidate? a) Enough hate from dps! b) We are new players, we don’t know the quests well enough to lead them, or hardy enough to take all the punishment from large groups of mobs. c) Content that needs tanking is too hard to tank for a new player anyways.

Feats!

Power Arrack and two handed fighting at level 1

Flexibleย at level 3

Improved two handed fighting at level 6

Improved Critical Slashing at level 9

Greater 2 handed fighting at level 12

Empower healingย ย atย level 15

Quicken at level 18

Flexible feat can be:

a) Toughness if you like a little more hp and no other buttons to push.

b) Wepond specialization slashing for more dps and no other buttons to push.

c) I have noticed that the new gear has some really good + stun stats so stunning blow seems a nice opt.

*you can take quicken for no heal fail but you will not have the spell or the sp to heal at lvl 3 ๐Ÿ™‚

** wisdom pots from marketplace for meeting wisdom requirements ๐Ÿ™‚

Enchantments.

Go all the way for Energy Drain Immunity on Knight of the Chalise Tree! OP vs a lot of content, too frushtrating and you need gear to overcome energy drain effects and insta death spells. Taking this enchantment is a must for a new player IMO.

Take all the cleaves from there as well! ๐Ÿ™‚

You dont need saves vs disease / poison etc, go for dps stuff.

Rest of points to Sacred Defender! Big thing is 20% more hp and +6 con!

I cannot think of an easier more convenient and more powerful build for a new player!

Carnifex at Level 4, Riftmaker at 13 and you are good to go! ๐Ÿ™‚

Playstyle is buff! cleave! heal! , buff! kill! heal! ๐Ÿ™‚ Lay of hands on emergency or traps and you are good to go! ๐Ÿ™‚

tips: On early levels, try getting the first cleave from KOTC and then go for the 20% hp boost from SD tree! ๐Ÿ™‚

(There is a more OP DDO 2016 build and thats an ES Warlock! but its not ftp so my 1st build i needed it to be a 2HF Pally!)

In conclusion! If you are a new player who is still learning this game, or a seasoned player that wants to knock out some Paladin Past lives, try this build and you will not regret it! ๐Ÿ™‚
